Thanksgiving reminds me to take stock of all the wonderful things in my life. Here’s a book that immerses me in the feeling of familial love and gratitude: Dogger by Shirley Hughes. Dave and his worn, old soft toy Dogger are inseparable—that is, until one night Dogger cannot be found. With straightforward, affectionate language and warm, inviting illustrations, Hughes draws readers through the emotional journey of a child’s bond with his stuffed companion. A startling discovery and an act of extraordinary kindness by Dave’s older sister lead to a deeply moving ending that makes my eyes well up with tears every time I read it. I wish you and your loved ones a peaceful and happy Thanksgiving. #shirleyhughes #dogger #stuffed #book #books #childrensbooks #beautifulbook #beautifulbooks #beautifulbookcover #beautifulbookcovers #picturebook #picturebooks #picturebookillustration #picturebookillustrations #picturebookart #classicchildrensbooks #childrensbookillustration #childrensliterature #illustration #kidlit #kidsbooks #bookworm #booklover #booklovers #bibliophile #bookstagram #bookstagrammer #bookstagrammers #instabook #instabooks
