For a spare and contemplative read, try Sky Dragon by Ron Wegen. The text consists entirely of dialogue, centering on a family’s observations of the shifting clouds in the sky overhead. Wegen subtly tweaks the perspective of the scene so that the reader sees the people from behind while the sky appears to be a vertical backdrop placed directly in front of them; we are thus treated to an impossible composition, in which we view the characters and look through their eyes at the same time. Inspired by the dragon they perceive in the roiling cloud bank, the family recreates the majestic beast as a snow sculpture the next day. #sky #dragon #cloud #clouds #snow #book #books #childrensbooks #beautifulbook #beautifulbooks #beautifulbookcover #beautifulbookcovers #picturebook #picturebooks #picturebookillustration #picturebookart #childrensbookillustration #childrensliterature #illustration #kidlit #kidsbooks #bookworm #booklover #booklovers #bibliophile #bookstagram #bookstagrammer #bookstagrammers #instabook #instabooks
