For some unique tips on how to tackle writer’s block, take a peek at Ike’s Incredible Ink by @briannehfarley. After deciding to write a story, Ike finds himself stuck with no idea what to write. He soon concludes that in order to produce a truly top-notch work of literature he must manufacture his own ink. Ike mixes his ink from the darkest ingredients he can locate: shadows, the feathers of the Booga-bird, unknown material from the dark side of the moon (necessitating the construction of a rocket). Once finished, he sets to work and the inspiration begins to flow. Farley keeps her phrases short and simple, allowing the whimsical fantasy of the story to shine. Her ink-flecked environments give off a lively, animated energy, cleverly encapsulated in her choice to illustrate Ike’s own body as an enormous blotch of ink. #incredible #ink #writer #writing #black #dark #shadow #bird #feathers #moon #book #books #childrensbooks #beautifulbooks #picturebook #picturebooks #childrensbookillustration #childrensliterature #illustration #kidlit #kidsbooks #bookworm #booklover #booklovers #bibliophile #bookstagram #bookstagrammer #bookstagrammers #instabook #instabooks
