For an ode to the passing of the seasons, try The Story of the Root-Children by Sibylle von Olfers. In the cozy underground home of Mother Earth lie the Root-Children: a snowdrop, a forget-me-not, a buttercup, a daisy, and a poppy, and many others. After a long winter, they awaken and begin preparations for the arrival of spring. Von Olfers combines gentle language and delicate illustrations in a celebration of nature by turns whimsical and reverent. #root #children #plants #animals #seasons #nature #life #book #books #childrensbooks #beautifulbooks #picturebook #picturebooks #picturebookillustration #picturebookillustrations #picturebookart #childrensbookillustration #childrensliterature #illustration #kidlit #kidsbooks #bookworm #booklover #booklovers #bibliophile #bookstagram #bookstagrammer #bookstagrammers #instabook #instabooks
