As you sink slowly into sleepiness, have a look at The Night Call by wife-and-husband author-illustrator team Jeanne Modesitt and Robin Spowart. When a star falls from the sky, the mysterious Starman sends out a call, prompting Rabbit and Mr. Bear to journey through a secret door, down a twisting stair, and into a sunlit pastoral world. Together with their friends Giraffe, Donkey, and Pup, they locate the star and give it to Starman for safekeeping. The lull of Modesitt’s gentle language and the soft glow of Spowart’s illustrations combine for a lovely and soothing exploration of nighttime fantasy. #night #call #star #rabbit #bear #giraffe #donkey #pup #magic #book #books #childrensbooks #beautifulbooks #picturebook #picturebooks #picturebookillustration #childrensbookillustration #childrensliterature #illustration #kidlit #kidsbooks #bookworm #booklover #booklovers #bibliophile #bookstagram #bookstagrammer #bookstagrammers #instabook #instabooks
