What would you do if a lifelong friend began to slip away from you and spend time with someone else? If they experienced heartbreak in their new relationship, would you be prepared to comfort them? Little Moon Dog by Helen Ward and Wayne Anderson turns on just such a compassionate decision. Originally published in the United Kingdom as simply “Moon Dog”, this book tells the tale of the Man in the Moon, whose peace is disrupted each year by the arrival of a rogue band of mysterious winged tourists. One year, his beloved companion Little Moon Dog is lured outside by the impish visitors, spirited away to Earth, and then callously abandoned. It is up to the Man in the Moon to cobble together a flying machine and come to the rescue of his canine comrade. Ward crafts her story with expressive language, strategically capitalized words denoting dramatic emphasis. Anderson’s merry, cartoonish illustrations contribute humor and warmth to the proceedings. #little #moon #dog #earth #fairies #friendship #book #books #childrensbooks #beautifulbook #beautifulbooks #beautifulbookcovers #picturebook #picturebooks #picturebookillustration #picturebookart #childrensbookillustration #childrensliterature #illustration #kidlit #kidsbooks #bookworm #booklover #booklovers #bibliophile #bookstagram #bookstagrammer #bookstagrammers #instabook #instabooks
