For a heartwarming and enlightening experience, read Tenzin’s Deer by Barbara Soros and Danuta Mayer. In old Tibet, Tenzin, a boy revered for his kindness and preternatural wisdom finds a musk deer wounded by a hunter’s arrow. He names her Jampa and gradually nurses her back to health, guided by knowledge from his dreams. Boy and deer become fast friends, but eventually it is time for the animal to return to the wild. The two part ways, but Jampa returns to Tenzin in his dreams, granting peace and spiritual balance. Soros draws on Tibetan culture and philosophy in her tranquil narrative, while Mayer pays tribute to the beauty of eastern art in her gouache illustrations. #deer #medicine #philosophy #tibet #book #books #childrensbooks #beautifulbook #beautifulbooks #beautifulbookcover #beautifulbookcovers #picturebook #picturebooks #picturebookillustration #picturebookillustrations #picturebookart #childrensbookillustration #childrensliterature #illustration #kidlit #kidsbooks #bookworm #booklover #booklovers #bibliophile #bookstagram #bookstagrammer #bookstagrammers #instabook #instabooks
