The book of the day is William Steig’s Solomon the Rusty Nail. A young rabbit inexplicably gifted with the innate power to turn himself into a rusty nail at will is captured by a vicious cat, who imprisons him in a cage and later hammers him into a wall. Only by the happenstance of a timely house fire is he able to free himself and escape. Steig’s characteristically eloquent author’s voice and his inimitable cartoon visual style meld to produce an appealing fantasy caper. #rusty #nail #magic #book #books #childrensbooks #beautifulbook #beautifulbooks #beautifulbookcover #beautifulbookcovers #picturebook #picturebooks #picturebookillustration #picturebookillustrations #picturebookart #classicchildrensbooks #childrensbookillustration #childrensliterature #illustration #kidlit #kidsbooks #bookworm #booklover #booklovers #bibliophile #bookstagram #bookstagrammer #bookstagrammers #instabook #instabooks
