Twelve Dancing Princesses Week moves merrily along, bringing us to a delightful adaptation by @alisonjay17. The atmosphere in this retelling is suffused with joyful whimsy, from the palace pets (a skinny dog and a plump cat) to the starry pattern of the wondrous cloak of invisibility (the same texture appears on the translucent depiction of the invisible soldier). Jay’s instantly recognizable style, achieved by spreading a crackle varnish over alkyd paint on thick cartridge paper, brings a warm and inviting aura to the world of the tale. #dancing #princesses #mystery #magic #book #books #childrensbooks #beautifulbook #beautifulbooks #beautifulbookcover #beautifulbookcovers #picturebook #picturebooks #picturebookillustration #picturebookillustrations #picturebookart #childrensbookillustration #childrensliterature #illustration #kidlit #kidsbooks #bookworm #booklover #booklovers #bibliophile #bookstagram #bookstagrammer #bookstagrammers #instabook #instabooks
