What is your dream? Would some describe it as impossible? Maybe you yourself don’t really believe it can come true. In that case, just take a look at The Dreamer by @ilsungna. A pig who admires birds sets his sights on learning to fly. He constructs a series of machines, only to see each attempt fail. His dream seems wholly out of reach, but he simply will not give up. Finally, he takes off into the air. Now he soars higher and higher, inspiring those around him to follow suit. The story ends as it began, for the pig has held onto the wonder he feels when watching the birds in the sky. With gentle, introspective writing, Na playfully turns the sardonic cliché “when pigs fly” on its head, interrogating the jaded attitude embedded in the phrase and encouraging readers to reach for their own dreams. This inspiring text is well complemented by the soft textures of his digitally composited ink-and-colored-pencil illustrations. #dreamer #dream #dreams #pig #birds #fly #book #books #childrensbooks #beautifulbook #beautifulbooks #beautifulbookcovers #picturebook #picturebooks #picturebookillustration #picturebookart #childrensbookillustration #childrensliterature #illustration #kidlit #kidsbooks #bookworm #booklover #booklovers #bibliophile #bookstagram #bookstagrammer #bookstagrammers #instabook #instabooks
