For a hair-raising adventure brimming with evil magic and bright marvels, read The Fearsome Inn, Isaac Bashevis Singer’s original tale with illustrations by Nonny Hogrogian. Herschel, Velvel, and Leibel, three young travelers seek lodging during a snowstorm. Little do they realize that the inn they have found is run by Doboshova the witch and her half-devil husband Lapitut. Disguised as ordinary humans, the monstrous proprietors seek to enslave their guests with the power of nightmares. Fortunately, Leibel has made a study of Cabala, the Jewish tradition of mystical knowledge. He successfully traps the wicked couple with a circle of magical chalk and forces them to sign a blood oath promising to release their grip on the inn. Singer’s eerie tale blends the sacred and the occult in equal measure, while Hogrogian’s art creates an air of mystery and menace. #witch #devil #magic #book #books #childrensbooks #beautifulbook #beautifulbooks #beautifulbookcover #beautifulbookcovers #picturebook #picturebooks #picturebookillustration #picturebookillustrations #picturebookart #classicchildrensbooks #childrensbookillustration #childrensliterature #illustration #kidlit #kidsbooks #bookworm #booklover #booklovers #bibliophile #bookstagram #bookstagrammer #bookstagrammers #instabook #instabooks
