Today I’ve been happily perusing In Search of the Thunder Dragon co-written and co-illustrated by Sophie and Romio Shrestha. Amber travels to Bhutan with her father to visit her cousin Tashi. When the two children ask to see the legendary Thunder Dragons, their grandfather sends them to a far-off monastery. The head lama, a wise and venerable monk, sends them up to the mountains to the Tiger’s Nest. There, a winged Tiger flies them into the clouds and enters a majestic aerial dance with two Thunder Dragons. In this original tale sprinkled with elements of traditional iconography, the married collaborators explore the rich culture of Bhutan. #thunder #dragon #tiger #bhutan #book #books #childrensbooks #beautifulbook #beautifulbooks #beautifulbookcover #beautifulbookcovers #picturebook #picturebooks #picturebookillustration #picturebookillustrations #picturebookart #childrensbookillustration #childrensliterature #illustration #kidlit #kidsbooks #bookworm #booklover #booklovers #bibliophile #bookstagram #bookstagrammer #bookstagrammers #instabook #instabooks
