Trinka Hakes Noble and @egkellerdraws explore an urban legend with roots over two hundred years old in The Legend of the Jersey Devil. One autumn night in 1735, an old woman named Mother Leeds in British colonial New Jersey is about to give birth to her thirteenth child. Racked with the pains of labor, she gasps out an untimely curse and her offspring emerges in the shape of a bestial demon. Thus begins the terrifying reign of the so-called Jersey Devil. Noble’s dramatic language and Kelley’s caricature-style illustrations enliven and electrify the mood of this bizarre and eerie tale. #jersey #devil #newjersey #monster #book #books #childrensbooks #beautifulbook #beautifulbooks #beautifulbookcover #beautifulbookcovers #picturebook #picturebooks #picturebookillustration #picturebookillustrations #picturebookart #childrensbookillustration #childrensliterature #illustration #kidlit #kidsbooks #bookworm #booklover #booklovers #bibliophile #bookstagram #bookstagrammer #bookstagrammers #instabook #instabooks
