Here’s a look at a classic fairy tale: Eric A. Kimmel and Megan Lloyd’s The Gingerbread Man. An elderly couple decide to bake some gingerbread. They cut the dough in the shape of a little man and put it in the oven. To their surprise, once he is decorated, the gingerbread man jumps off the table and runs away, leading them on a merry wild goose chase. The living cookie flees from a pig, a dog, a horse, and a cow before meeting his end in the jaws of a sly, hungry fox. The enthusiastic phrasing of Kimmel’s retelling is matched in the merry expressions of the humans and animals in Lloyd’s winning art. #ginger #bread #gingerbread #man #woman #pig #dog #horse #cow #fox #book #books #childrensbooks #beautifulbooks #picturebook #picturebooks #childrensbookillustration #childrensliterature #illustration #kidlit #kidsbooks #bookworm #booklover #booklovers #bibliophile #bookstagram #bookstagrammer #bookstagrammers #instabook #instabooks
