I’m smiling as I read @tomiungerer’s Adelaide the Flying Kangaroo, an adventure with humor and heart. A kangaroo, inexplicably born with wings, longs to fly like the birds and airplanes she sees in the sky. She sets off around the world, traveling from her desert home all the way to Paris, where she sees the sights, gains fame on the music hall stages, and rescues two children from a house fire. After she meets another kangaroo at the zoo, she arranges for him to be freed and the two are married. Ungerer employs a whimsical writing style and zany black and white line art accented with shades of brown and blue. #flying #kangaroo #fly #wings #book #books #childrensbooks #beautifulbook #beautifulbooks #beautifulbookcovers #picturebook #picturebooks #picturebookillustration #picturebookillustrations #picturebookart #classicchildrensbooks #childrensbookillustration #childrensliterature #illustration #kidlit #kidsbooks #bookworm #booklover #booklovers #bibliophile #bookstagram #bookstagrammer #bookstagrammers #instabook #instabooks
