To all logophiles near and far I am eager to present @sonjawimmer.illustration’s The Word Collector, a gentle adventure celebrating the unifying power of verbal communication. Luna is a very unusual girl. She lives above the clouds in what appears to be a floating lighthouse. She passes the time collecting words, which she stores in jars, bottles, cages, and other containers. One day, the wonderful words Luna loves best begin to disappear, and she sets off in a hot-air balloon to investigate. Where she sees strife and violence, she sends down words of love. To the sad and lonely, she gifts words of warmth. And for those simply too busy to enjoy life she presents words of humor. Having given away all her words and healed entire communities of people along the way, Luna is at peace. Wimmer draws the reader into a world of magic and delight, weaving text in odd paths and undulating lines throughout her eclectic collage illustrations. #word #collector #words #sky #balloon #people #kindness #love #magic #book #books #childrensbooks #picturebook #picturebooks #picturebookillustration #picturebookart #childrensbookillustration #childrensliterature #illustration #kidlit #kidsbooks #bookworm #booklover #booklovers #bibliophile #bookstagram #bookstagrammer #bookstagrammers #instabook #instabooks
