Mem Fox and Vivienne Goodman’s Guess What? brings a zany energy to a spare, irreverent character piece. The focal character is a so-called crazy lady named Daisy O’Grady. She is tall, thin, and fond of animals. She wears a black dress and hat, owns a black cat, and likes to fly at night. She is in fact a witch, but unlike her wicked sistren she is a harmless and charismatic figure. Fox’s jovial question-and-answer text provides the ideal setup for Goodman’s surrealistic gouache paintings. #guess #what #lady #witch #book #books #childrensbooks #beautifulbook #beautifulbooks #beautifulbookcover #beautifulbookcovers #picturebook #picturebooks #picturebookillustration #picturebookillustrations #picturebookart #childrensbookillustration #childrensliterature #illustration #kidlit #kidsbooks #bookworm #booklover #booklovers #bibliophile #bookstagram #bookstagrammer #bookstagrammers #instabook #instabooks
