Imagine that birds, insects, and other animals were originally created without wings and subsequently had to be completed. This odd thought is the premise of The Little Wing Giver, a whimsical tale written by Jacques Taravant and illustrated by @peter.sis.art. A boy lives at the beginning of creation, when all animals in the world are newly made. Since no creatures have yet been given wings, the boy (known only as Little Wing Giver) travels all over the earth handing them out to birds, insects, and even windmills. One day the wind, angered by these gifts, blows the boy’s basket of wings into the ocean. Even so, he still manages to help a caterpillar transform into a butterfly by giving it wings made of poppy petals. Finally, exhausted and utterly spent by his endless quest, the boy rises into the sky and is transformed into an angel. Taravant creates a gentle and imaginative etiological tale, while Sís contributes his signature pale-colored ethereal art. #little #wing #wings #bird #birds #fly #flying #flight #earth #world #creation #magic #book #books #childrensbooks #picturebook #childrensbookillustration #childrensliterature #illustration #kidlit #kidsbooks #bookworm #booklover #booklovers #bibliophile #bookstagram #bookstagrammer #bookstagrammers #instabook #instabooks
