Eileen Spinelli and @raul.colon.7140 present a soothing hymn to the night in Rise the Moon. The world sleeps. In the glowing darkness, moths flutter, sea turtles crawl, wolves howl, a dancer performs a graceful movement, a baker prepares the crust for an apple pie, a sailor navigates over gentle waters, and a mother rocks her sleeping baby. Life moves this way and that, cradled by the moon’s gentle touch. Spinelli’s freeform poetry dazzles, while Colón’s watercolor paintings—scratched, scraped, etched, and then drawn over with colored pencil—provide thrilling movement and dreamy contrast between cool and warm. #rise #moon #night #world #book #books #childrensbooks #beautifulbook #beautifulbooks #beautifulbookcover #beautifulbookcovers #picturebook #picturebooks #picturebookillustration #picturebookillustrations #picturebookart #childrensbookillustration #childrensliterature #illustration #kidlit #kidsbooks #bookworm #booklover #booklovers #bibliophile #bookstagram #bookstagrammer #bookstagrammers #instabook #instabooks
