Imagine that you can’t sleep, so you look out the window and see a pack of friendly animals getting together for a midnight snack. You have just imagined yourself in the realm of Night Lunch, a cozy collaboration between @ericfanillustration and @dena.seiferling. In the middle of the night, as a full moon hangs in the air, a hungry group of nocturnal animals gathers on a brightly lit city street. With a clip-clop of hooves and a thinking bell, the night lunch cart rolls in. A gentle owl cooks tasty food to order: fried eggs for the moths, sausages and peppers for the bats, puddings for the possums. When the crowd has dispersed, a timid little mouse remains to sweep the gutter. The owl generously opens the door of the cart, and the two share a feast of tea and cakes before the first light of morning creeps over the horizon. Fan’s minimalist text unfolds like quiet poetry; Seiferling’s digital art boasts soft textures and a rich, dreamy palette of reds, browns, and purples. #night #lunch #food #animal #animals #owl #fox #bat #moth #mouse #book #books #childrensbooks #beautifulbooks #picturebook #picturebooks #childrensbookillustration #childrensliterature #illustration #kidlit #kidsbooks #bookworm #booklover #booklovers #bibliophile #bookstagram #bookstagrammer #bookstagrammers #instabook #instabooks
