I’m thrilled to start sharing some images of picture books from my collection! First up, a childhood favorite of mine: this stunning edition of Swan Lake, written by ballerina Margot Fonteyn and illustrated by the incomparable Trina Schart Hyman. Siegfried and Odette gaze serenely at each other on the front cover, while the owl magician Count von Rothbart stalks them on the back. Poring over this book with @ladyjaiduh many years ago (a youth decidedly well spent), I was simultaneously terrified and enthralled by von Rothbart’s eerie duality. #trinascharthyman #margotfonteyn #swanlake #book #books #childrensbooks #beautifulbook #beautifulbooks #beautifulbookcover #beautifulbookcovers #picturebook #picturebooks #picturebookillustration #picturebookillustrations #picturebookart #classicchildrensbooks #childrensbookillustration #childrensliterature #illustration #kidlit #kidsbooks #bookworm #booklover #booklovers #bibliophile #bookstagram #bookstagrammer #bookstagrammers #instabook #instabooks
