Next up, a marvelous adaptation of the Russian fairy tale The Frog Princess, retold by @j.patricklewis and illustrated by the extraordinary Gennady Spirin. This richness of these watercolor paintings left a lasting impression on me as a child. Here I also received early exposure to two of my great folkloric obsessions: Baba Yaga, the witch whose house walks on chicken feet, and Koschchei the Deathless, a sinister villain who conceals his mortality within a hidden object. #gennadyspirin #jpatricklewis #frogprincess #book #books #childrensbooks #beautifulbook #beautifulbooks #beautifulbookcover #beautifulbookcovers #picturebook #picturebooks #picturebookillustration #picturebookillustrations #picturebookart #classicchildrensbooks #childrensbookillustration #childrensliterature #illustration #kidlit #kidsbooks #bookworm #booklover #booklovers #bibliophile #bookstagram #bookstagrammer #bookstagrammers #instabook #instabooks
