Here’s a treat: The Magic Nesting Doll, written by @jackieogburn and illustrated with the sumptuous paintings of Laurel Long. Both author and artist have drawn inspiration from Russia: Ogburn weaves several Russian folkloric motifs into her original tale, while Long contrasts jewel-bright tones and rich, black shadows in the style of Russian lacquer art. #jacquelinekogburn #laurellong #nestingdoll #nestingdolls #matryoshka #matryoshkadoll #matryoshkadolls #book #books #childrensbooks #beautifulbooks #picturebook #picturebooks #picturebookillustration #picturebookillustrations #picturebookart #childrensbookillustration #childrensliterature #illustration #kidlit #kidsbooks #bookworm #booklover #booklovers #bibliophile #bookstagram #bookstagrammer #bookstagrammers #instabook #instabooks
