Now this is a work of art: The Moon’s Revenge, written by Joan Aiken and illustrated by Alan Lee. For many years I hazily remembered my school librarian reading us this book, but I recalled neither title nor author nor illustrator—only brief flashes of plot. When I finally found it again, I was overjoyed. Aiken weaves a spellbinding tale of spirits and monsters, of grandfather clocks and mysterious violins, of moonlit sea walls and whispers behind old, cracked doors. Beautifully complementing the story’s tone, Lee’s watercolor paintings give us a ghostly world of windswept hills, froth-capped waves, and silver-clouded skies. #alanlee #joanaiken #moon #revenge #sea #book #books #childrensbooks #beautifulbook #beautifulbooks #beautifulbookcovers #picturebook #picturebooks #picturebookillustration #picturebookart #classicchildrensbooks #childrensbookillustration #childrensliterature #illustration #kidlit #kidsbooks #bookworm #booklover #booklovers #bibliophile #bookstagram #bookstagrammer #bookstagrammers #instabook #instabooks
