If you want a fairy tale with beauty, wit, and excitement, then look no further: here’s a grand adaptation of Charles Perrault’s Puss in Boots by Lincoln Kirstein and @vaesart. To his retelling of the familiar story of the clever cat using his wits to amass wealth and prestige for his ineffectual master, Kirstein adds alluring details and gripping action in key moments. In his resplendent artwork, Vaës takes inspiration from the French Baroque, employing subtle exaggeration of facial expressions and bodily proportion to comical effect. #alainvaes #lincolnkirstein #pussinboots #perrault #charlesperrault #book #books #childrensbooks #beautifulbook #beautifulbooks #beautifulbookcovers #picturebook #picturebooks #picturebookillustration #picturebookart #classicchildrensbooks #childrensbookillustration #childrensliterature #illustration #kidlit #kidsbooks #bookworm #booklover #booklovers #bibliophile #bookstagram #bookstagrammer #bookstagrammers #instabook #instabooks
