A charming little thing indeed is The Mouldy, written by William Mayne and illustrated by Nicola Bayley. Mayne sets his tale “in the great garden of the world”, where an idyllic community of sentient flower beings suddenly finds itself threatened by a monster—the eponymous Mouldy, whose nature and motives prove not quite as villainous as they might appear. Throughout the book, Bayley frames her cheery artwork in a variety of unorthodox shapes, all bordered by lightly sketched elements of nature. #nicolabayley #williammayne #mouldy #garden #book #books #childrensbooks #beautifulbook #beautifulbooks #beautifulbookcover #beautifulbookcovers #picturebook #picturebooks #picturebookillustration #picturebookillustrations #picturebookart #childrensbookillustration #childrensliterature #illustration #kidlit #kidsbooks #bookworm #booklover #booklovers #bibliophile #bookstagram #bookstagrammer #bookstagrammers #instabook #instabooks
