Reaching back into my childhood archive, I rediscovered David Gifaldi and C. Shana Greger’s The Boy Who Spoke Colors, an original tale of love, magic, greed, sorrow, and understanding. A child’s wondrous gift catches the attention of a cruel king, who separates him from his family in an attempt to harness the miracle for profit. Through examination of the characters and their motives, Gifaldi achieves a cautionary tale, moral but not overtly moralistic. Greger’s jewel-toned art vividly evokes the title phenomenon in all its beauty. #color #colors #rainbow #rainbows #book #books #childrensbooks #beautifulbook #beautifulbooks #beautifulbookcover #beautifulbookcovers #picturebook #picturebooks #picturebookillustration #picturebookillustrations #picturebookart #childrensbookillustration #childrensliterature #illustration #kidlit #kidsbooks #bookworm #booklover #booklovers #bibliophile #bookstagram #bookstagrammer #bookstagrammers #instabook #instabooks
