If it’s a quietly beautiful story of nighttime fears and the protective power of love you’re after, then look no further: here’s Jenny Koralek and @mrjamesmayhew’s The Boy and the Cloth of Dreams, a tale that pays true respect to the wild and dangerous country we traverse once we close our eyes. A young child, whose sleep has never been anything but pleasant thanks to a special blanket sewn by his grandmother, accidentally rips the cloth. Now plagued by nightmares, he must help his grandmother repair the damage and gain a measure of courage along the way. Koralek’s poetic story is well matched by Mayhew’s luminous illustrations, which fully embrace the cozy warmth of the grandmother’s house, the disturbing apparitions of the boy’s nightmares, and the fiery glory of the coming dawn. #jamesmayhew #dream #dreams #nightmare #nightmares #book #books #childrensbooks #beautifulbook #beautifulbooks #beautifulbookcover #beautifulbookcovers #picturebook #picturebooks #picturebookillustration #picturebookart #childrensbookillustration #childrensliterature #illustration #kidlit #kidsbooks #bookworm #booklover #booklovers #bibliophile #bookstagram #bookstagrammer #bookstagrammers #instabook #instabooks
