If there is one book that perfectly represents utter peace and relaxation, it is most surely Barbara Berger’s Grandfather Twilight. Each scene radiates a comforting stillness and a quiet reverence for nature. Grandfather Twilight himself evinces subtle and spiritual connections to the world around him: he lives without walls in a forest grove, he leaves a mystical banner of pale sky and cloud in his path, and he lets a pearl from his wooden chest float into the air and become the moon each night. Berger develops a hypnotic rhythm through simple, poetic phrases: “Leaves begin to whisper. Little birds hush.” Her meditative paintings celebrate gentle beauty in the mundane and the magical. #grandfather #forest #animals #moon #magic #book #books #childrensbooks #beautifulbook #beautifulbooks #beautifulbookcover #beautifulbookcovers #picturebook #picturebooks #picturebookillustration #picturebookart #childrensbookillustration #childrensliterature #illustration #kidlit #kidsbooks #bookworm #booklover #booklovers #bibliophile #bookstagram #bookstagrammer #bookstagrammers #instabook #instabooks
