A little curiosity about the world can be a wonderful thing, but too much can drive the young and inexperienced to bite off more than they can chew. So discovers the eponymous hero of Babri by James Jacobs and Fahimeh Amiri. A young tiger slips away from his napping mother and disobeys her warnings about the dangers of the jungle. The innocent cub begins questioning mice, squirrels, and birds about their nature, but he soon loses sight of the path back to his fern glade home. Babri must outwit a proud turtle, flee a threatening crocodile, and evade a sinister snake before a kindly elephant carries him back to his mother. Jacobs, fascinatingly, has based his sweet and engaging story on Amiri’s brightly colored and expressive illustrations (created with watercolor on paper collage), a reversal of the traditional order of a picture book’s genesis. #tiger #mother #jungle #book #books #childrensbooks #beautifulbook #beautifulbooks #beautifulbookcover #beautifulbookcovers #picturebook #picturebooks #picturebookillustration #picturebookillustrations #picturebookart #classicchildrensbooks #childrensbookillustration #childrensliterature #illustration #kidlit #kidsbooks #bookworm #booklover #booklovers #bibliophile #bookstagram #bookstagrammer #bookstagrammers #instabook #instabooks
