You’ll probably want to pick up Scarlett Angelina Wolverton-Manning for the delightful title alone, and you’ll most likely be glad you did. It’s hard to predict just where the plot is headed in @jackieogburn and @ajharart’s mischievously funny tale. Scarlett Angelina lives a life of luxury as the heir to an enormous fortune in her family’s opulent mansion. When an impostor replaces her chauffeur, abducts her, and holds her for ransom, Mr. and Mrs. Wolverton-Manning appear deeply worried that she will be out after dark, particularly on the night of the full moon. Meanwhile, the kidnapper’s pets vanish one by one, with Scarlett Angelina claiming total innocence. What could be going on here? Ogburn sprinkles the narration and dialogue with enough hints, bolstered by Ajhar’s playful character expressions, that canny readers may work out the phenomenon behind the mysterious Wolverton-Manning family secret in advance of its satisfyingly comical reveal. #family #danger #mystery #book #books #childrensbooks #beautifulbook #beautifulbooks #beautifulbookcover #beautifulbookcovers #picturebook #picturebooks #picturebookillustration #picturebookillustrations #picturebookart #classicchildrensbooks #childrensbookillustration #childrensliterature #illustration #kidlit #kidsbooks #bookworm #booklover #booklovers #bibliophile #bookstagram #bookstagrammer #bookstagrammers #instabook #instabooks
