Firebird Week is soaring higher than ever, and that brings us to Firebird, an engaging version by Rachel Isadora, adapted from the plot of the 1910 ballet. With swirling forms and bright colors, Isadora presents the characters in balletic costumes and poses, honoring the dance origins of the source material. The Firebird herself, appearing entirely human, wears the tutu and pointe shoes of a prima ballerina. Only the evil sorcerer Katschei is visually marked as supernatural, with his robe and hair swirling and rising like a malevolent tide. #firebird #prince #princess #wizard #russia #russian #book #books #childrensbooks #beautifulbook #beautifulbooks #beautifulbookcover #picturebook #picturebooks #picturebookillustration #picturebookart #childrensbookillustration #childrensliterature #illustration #kidlit #kidsbooks #bookworm #booklover #booklovers #bibliophile #bookstagram #bookstagrammer #bookstagrammers #instabook #instabooks
