It’s the final blaze of glory for Firebird Week, and I therefore present this exciting and inventive adaptation by Jane Yolen and Vladimir Vagin. In his art accompanying Yolen’s lively and compelling treatment of the 1910 ballet, Vagin takes a unique twofold approach. The majority of each page is taken up by an illustration of the fairy tale world of the story. A strip running across the bottom depicts the corresponding scene from the ballet with costumed dancers on a stage. #firebird #prince #princess #wizard #russia #russian #book #books #childrensbooks #beautifulbook #beautifulbooks #beautifulbookcover #picturebook #picturebooks #picturebookillustration #picturebookart #childrensbookillustration #childrensliterature #illustration #kidlit #kidsbooks #bookworm #booklover #booklovers #bibliophile #bookstagram #bookstagrammer #bookstagrammers #instabook #instabooks
