The book of the day is @patriciapolacco01’s Boat Ride with Lillian Two Blossom. At Kalaska Pond, William fishes while Mabel plays on the shore. Mabel begins to wonder about the mysteries of the rain, the wind, the sun, the night, and the moon. Suddenly Lillian Two Blossom, a local Native American woman appears and offers to answer the young girl’s questions in exchange for a boat ride. Once the three are out on the water, the boat rises into the air. Lillian magically becomes young again, and reveals the unseen animal spirits that guide the tangible elements of the universe along their paths. With an inviting text (loosely based on a true story told by the author’s father from his childhood) and bright, cheerful illustrations, Polacco spins a sweet and delicately cosmic yarn. #boat #ride #rain #wind #sun #sky #night #moon #magic #book #books #childrensbooks #picturebook #picturebooks #picturebookillustration #picturebookart #childrensbookillustration #childrensliterature #illustration #kidlit #kidsbooks #bookworm #booklover #booklovers #bibliophile #bookstagram #bookstagrammer #bookstagrammers #instabook #instabooks
