Today I am taking a look at the whimsical Snippy and Snappy, an entertaining work by Wanda Gág, one of America’s first celebrated picture book author-illustrators. Two little field mice long to see the world. One day they chase their mother’s big blue knitting ball out of their cozy nook and over the fields until it is picked up by a child and carried toward a house. They explore the rooms inside, experiencing one misadventure after another, until they discover their father nibbling at some cheese on a shelf. Together, the three take a few hunks of cheese and scamper safely home to mother. Gág’s rollicking text and signature black-and-white drawing style give rise to a world of merry mouse play and wide-eyed wonder. #mouse #cheese #book #books #childrensbooks #fairytalebook #beautifulbook #beautifulbooks #beautifulbookcover #beautifulbookcovers #picturebook #picturebooks #picturebookillustration #picturebookillustrations #picturebookart #classicchildrensbooks #childrensbookillustration #childrensliterature #illustration #kidlit #kidsbooks #bookworm #booklover #booklovers #bibliophile #bookstagram #bookstagrammer #bookstagrammers #instabook #instabooks
