For a gently compelling glimpse of the majesty of nature, here is Owl Lake by Keizaburo Tejima, known mononymously as Tejima. A family of owls awakens at dusk. Father Owl swoops over the lake in search of food. He catches a large fish and brings it back to the nest to share with the others. Thus do the owls pass their time until dawn, when they will go to sleep. Tejima pairs his engaging, straightforward language with striking woodcuts, printed with ink in orange, brown, and pale cyan. #owl #lake #owls #fish #book #books #childrensbooks #beautifulbook #beautifulbooks #beautifulbookcover #beautifulbookcovers #picturebook #picturebooks #picturebookillustration #picturebookillustrations #picturebookart #childrensbookillustration #childrensliterature #illustration #kidlit #kidsbooks #bookworm #booklover #booklovers #bibliophile #bookstagram #bookstagrammer #bookstagrammers #instabook #instabooks
