Take a heartfelt imagined voyage back to a primordial society in The First Song Ever Sung, written by Laura Krauss Melmed and illustrated by Ed Young. In this touching narrative, a young boy speaks separately to each member of his family—his father, his brother, his sister, his grandmother, his grandfather, his dog, the minnows in the brook, the birds in the sky, and finally his mother. He asks each to tell him about the first song ever sung, and the replies illuminate the speakers’ minds and hearts, as well as their unique relationships with the boy. Melmed’s lyrical text and the stark colors of Young’s evocative art create a poetic vision of universal emotions stretching back to the dawn of humanity. #first #song #book #books #childrensbooks #fairytalebook #beautifulbook #beautifulbooks #beautifulbookcover #beautifulbookcovers #picturebook #picturebooks #picturebookillustration #picturebookillustrations #picturebookart #classicchildrensbooks #childrensbookillustration #childrensliterature #illustration #kidlit #kidsbooks #bookworm #booklover #booklovers #bibliophile #bookstagram #bookstagrammer #bookstagrammers #instabook #instabooks
