Let us take a bow as the entrancing strains of Twelve Dancing Princesses Week draws to a close. For a coda, here is John Cech and Lucy Corvino‘s marvelous rendition of the tale. Cech adapts the text of the Brothers Grimm into a cheerful and lively retelling, capped off with an author’s note tracing the story’s motifs into the wider folklore canon. The glimmering hues of Corvino’s restricted color palette of goldenrod yellows, bottle greens, plum purples, and turquoise blues accentuates the ethereal quality of the princesses’ nightly descent into the dark underworld. #dancing #princesses #mystery #magic #book #books #childrensbooks #beautifulbook #beautifulbooks #beautifulbookcover #beautifulbookcovers #picturebook #picturebooks #picturebookillustration #picturebookillustrations #picturebookart #childrensbookillustration #childrensliterature #illustration #kidlit #kidsbooks #bookworm #booklover #booklovers #bibliophile #bookstagram #bookstagrammer #bookstagrammers #instabook #instabooks
