To guarantee yourself the sweetest of dreams, why not end your day with The Boy and the Moon by @jameschristophercarroll? One night, a motley group of characters heads outside to dance and howl: a boy, an owl, a rabbit, a flower, a toad, and a chicken, and a dog. When the moon accidentally gets stuck in a tree, it is up to the boy to stage a daring rescue. Thinking quickly, he climbs the branches and feeds the moon apple after apple until it grows full enough to roll free with ease. The job done, the boy and his friends dance and howl the night away. Carroll’s warm and comforting text features engaging rhythm and rhyme, along with assonance, alliteration, and intentional repetition. His luminous art employs a dreamy mix of hazy blues and glowing whites, along with a few spots of cool green and muted red. #boy #moon #owl #rabbit #flower #chicken #dog #dance #night #sleep #book #books #childrensbooks #beautifulbooks #picturebook #picturebooks #childrensbookillustration #childrensliterature #illustration #kidlit #kidsbooks #bookworm #booklover #booklovers #bibliophile #bookstagram #bookstagrammer #bookstagrammers #instabook #instabooks
