A Sniff in Time by Susan Saunders and Michael Mariano will surely tickle your fancy—and perhaps your nose too. James lives a humdrum life with his mother on their quiet little farm. One day, a wandering wizard named Razzmatazz knocks at the door and asks for some dinner. In exchange for a bowl of hot soup or some buttered bread, he proclaims, he will endow James with clairvoyant abilities: the power to see the future, for example, or to hear it. Unfortunately, only a few turnips are available, and the irascible sorcerer grants his host the somewhat less impressive power to smell the future. Though at first confounded by the bizarre gift, James ultimately uses it in service to the king, and his future is secured. Saunders creates a silly but goodhearted original tale, while Mariano contributes appealingly comical grayscale drawings. #time #wizard #smell #future #magic #book #books #childrensbooks #beautifulbook #beautifulbooks #beautifulbookcover #beautifulbookcovers #picturebook #picturebooks #picturebookillustration #picturebookart #childrensbookillustration #childrensliterature #illustration #kidlit #kidsbooks #bookworm #booklover #booklovers #bibliophile #bookstagram #bookstagrammer #bookstagrammers #instabook #instabooks
