The book of the day is David Small’s Paper John. An inventive stranger moves to town and proceeds to ingratiate himself to the locals with his whimsical creations: paper flowers, paper boats, paper kites, even a paper house for himself to live in. His skill in construction earns him the name Paper John. One day his fishing line pulls up a strange little devil who proceeds to scurry about picking pockets. After Paper John foils his plans and sends him to jail, the devil summons the power of the four winds. The winds blow up a huge storm and begin to destroy the town. However, by cleverly folding his house into a boat, Paper John is able to rescue his neighbors. Small’s charming original tale shines with engaging language and merry illustrations. #paper #devil #wind #book #books #childrensbooks #beautifulbook #beautifulbooks #beautifulbookcover #beautifulbookcovers #picturebook #picturebooks #picturebookillustration #picturebookillustrations #picturebookart #classicchildrensbooks #childrensbookillustration #childrensliterature #illustration #kidlit #kidsbooks #bookworm #booklover #booklovers #bibliophile #bookstagram #bookstagrammer #bookstagrammers #instabook #instabooks
