A quirky and mysterious little world unfolds in Yendor by Graham Smith and Rodney Matthews. Strange plants and animals of all colors populate a bizarre fantasy landscape. Tucked away in a little house live Yendor and his parents. The boy, tired of his uneventful daily existence and vexed at being so often called “the small one in the middle”, sneaks away from home one night in search of adventure in the wild country. He does battle with a flying Killwing, matches wits with a great muddy Grumposaur, unknowingly avoids a poisonous Grabsting, and finally receives a lift home from a giant riding on a winged Snawk. Just when he cannot imagine things getting any more amazing, Yendor opens his eyes to find himself back in his own bed. The story, conceived and illustrated by Matthews and written by Smith, combines a droll author’s voice with stylized visuals and just a pinch of dream logic to create an amusing high fantasy romp. #creature #creatures #adventure #fantasy #book #books #childrensbooks #beautifulbook #beautifulbooks #beautifulbookcover #beautifulbookcovers #picturebook #picturebooks #picturebookillustration #picturebookillustrations #picturebookart #childrensbookillustration #childrensliterature #illustration #kidlit #kidsbooks #bookworm #booklover #booklovers #bibliophile #bookstagram #bookstagrammer #bookstagrammers #instabook #instabooks
