Let’s delve into Wonderful Time, Phyllis McGinley’s witty and engaging collection of poetry with illustrations by John Alcorn. The poems meander through various mechanical devices and social structures, including clocks, watched, sundials, hourglasses, and calendars. Each verse considers not only the physical attributes of these structures but also the accompanying human behaviors and customs. McGinley’s skillful writing fixes a cheerful eye on ideas both abstract and concrete, while Alcorn’s quirky black and white drawings provide plenty of detail and cross-hatched texture. #wonderful #time #clock #watch #hourglass #calendar #poem #poems #poetry #book #books #childrensbooks #picturebook #picturebooks #picturebookillustration #picturebookart #childrensbookillustration #childrensliterature #illustration #kidlit #kidsbooks #bookworm #booklover #booklovers #bibliophile #bookstagram #bookstagrammer #bookstagrammers #instabook #instabooks
