A quick blizzard outside my window inspired me to get out The Snow Princess, an original tale of icy enchantment by @ruthsandersonart. Father Frost and Mother Spring have a daughter. Because she can summon storms at will, they call her Snow Princess. They care for her as she grows and warn her never to fall in love. When she is a young woman, Snow Princess ventures to the lands where mortals dwell. She meets Sergei, a kind young shepherd, and introduces herself as Katia. The two spend time together, and begin to care for each other. When Sergei is lost in the woods, the Snow Princess rushes to his rescue, formally declaring her feelings for him and casting off the strictures of her parents. In that moment, she becomes mortal and resolves to remain with the man she loves. Sanderson’s elegant original story pairs beautifully with the formal grandeur of her stunning oil paintings in deep blue, rich black, and bright white. #snow #princess #magic #book #books #childrensbooks #beautifulbook #beautifulbooks #beautifulbookcover #beautifulbookcovers #picturebook #picturebooks #picturebookillustration #picturebookillustrations #picturebookart #classicchildrensbooks #childrensbookillustration #childrensliterature #illustration #kidlit #kidsbooks #bookworm #booklover #booklovers #bibliophile #bookstagram #bookstagrammer #bookstagrammers #instabook #instabooks
