Have you ever imagined being picked up and carried out of your ordinary existence, headlong into the unknown? Stop what you’re doing and read The Umbrella by Ingrid and Dieter Schubert. This wordless adventure begins with a dog and a cat sitting in a shower of autumn leaves as a storm brews. There follows a sequence of events highly improbable and utterly thrilling. Clinging to a red umbrella, the dog is swept away by the roaring gale and transported around the world, where he encounters hungry crocodiles on a savanna, floats through a colorful coral reef, rides the water spirit from a whale’s blowhole, swings on a network of jungle vines, slides down a snowcapped mountain, and finally finds itself back where it started. But now the cat has grown curious about the umbrella…The Schuberts’ illustrations provide dramatic scope and riveting action in each clime and sweeping landscape. #umbrella #dog #cat #storm #wind #adventure #book #books #childrensbooks #beautifulbook #beautifulbooks #beautifulbookcovers #picturebook #picturebooks #picturebookillustration #picturebookart #childrensbookillustration #childrensliterature #illustration #kidlit #kidsbooks #bookworm #booklover #booklovers #bibliophile #bookstagram #bookstagrammer #bookstagrammers #instabook #instabooks
