Today is the vernal equinox: the first day of spring. With the turning of the season, I’m enjoying Spring’s Sprung, an allegorical tale by Lynn Plourde and Greg Couch. Mother Earth wakes her daughters March, April, and May so that they can begin a fresh new day in the world. However, their squabbling soon prevents them from executing their jobs. Mother Earth must reassure them all of her love before they unite and wake nature in harmonious song. Plourde unfurls her original story in rhyming quatrains, while Couch illustrates the mythical proceedings in acrylic and colored pencil on museum board. #spring #mother #earth #motherearth #daughters #march #april #may #season #seasons #nature #book #books #picturebook #picturebooks #picturebookillustration #childrensbookillustration #childrensliterature #illustration #kidlit #kidsbooks #bookworm #booklover #booklovers #bibliophile #bookstagram #bookstagrammer #bookstagrammers #instabook #instabooks
