Come read Shadow by Marcia Brown and be transported to a landscape of ideas and evocative imagery. Brown’s text translates a French-language poem by Blaise Cendrars called La Féticheuse (the Witch-Doctor). Here Shadow is an entity at once mysterious and familiar—a spirit in the forest, a presence dancing around the fire, a trickster just over one’s shoulder in everyday life. Brown’s silhouetted figures against backgrounds of swirling, blended color inspire intrigue, fear, and awe. #shadow #night #day #book #books #childrensbooks #beautifulbook #beautifulbooks #beautifulbookcover #beautifulbookcovers #picturebook #picturebooks #picturebookillustration #picturebookillustrations #picturebookart #classicchildrensbooks #childrensbookillustration #childrensliterature #illustration #kidlit #kidsbooks #bookworm #booklover #booklovers #bibliophile #bookstagram #bookstagrammer #bookstagrammers #instabook #instabooks
