Have a look at John Ruskin’s classic tale The King of the Golden River, illustrated by Sandro Nardini. The story opens in a pleasant land nicknamed the Treasure Valley, owned by three brothers. Schwartz and Hans, the elder two, are ugly, cruel, and miserly; Gluck, the youngest, is fair, kind, and generous. The sudden arrival of a mysterious old man turns disastrous when the older brothers treat him quite shabbily. The stranger, in truth the embodiment of the South-West Wind, destroys the Treasure Valley entirely, setting off a strange sequence of events that leads to a date with destiny at the fabled Golden River. Nardini’s elegant images well complement Ruskin’s quirky, magical tale. #king #golden #river #wind #book #books #childrensbooks #beautifulbook #beautifulbooks #beautifulbookcovers #picturebook #picturebooks #picturebookillustration #picturebookillustrations #picturebookart #classicchildrensbooks #childrensbookillustration #childrensliterature #illustration #kidlit #kidsbooks #bookworm #booklover #booklovers #bibliophile #bookstagram #bookstagrammer #bookstagrammers #instabook #instabooks
