If you’ve ever wondered whether your surroundings could be improved by small yet heartfelt acts of goodness, you’ll find your answer in The Curious Garden by @peterbrownstudio. Liam lives in a city choked in pollution. One day, he discovers a patch of plant life struggling to grow on the tracks of a derelict elevated railroad line. Liam diligently tends the plants, watering them, pruning them, and even singing to them. The garden begins to push outward, extending down the length of the railway track. After a cold winter, the greenery resumes its forward creep, extending first to nearby rooftops and then to old cars, signposts, and fire hydrants. Other people soon begin to notice and care for the plants in their vicinity. Years later, the garden has spread out to transform the entire city into a lush, verdant landscape. Brown marries a simple yet effective text with acrylic and gouache art to produce a stirring celebration of nature’s resilience and the human drive to effect positive change. #curious #garden #gardener #gardening #plant #plants #nature #book #books #childrensbooks #beautifulbooks #picturebook #picturebooks #picturebookillustration #picturebookillustrations #picturebookart #childrensbookillustration #childrensliterature #illustration #kidlit #kidsbooks #bookworm #booklover #booklovers #bibliophile #bookstagram #bookstagrammer #bookstagrammers #instabook #instabooks
