Have you read The Cloud Princess by @khoa.le.artwork? I’ve been leafing through it today and smiling at its colorful aesthetic of sweet tranquility. The Cloud Princess lives high in the sky with only Miss Sun and Miss Moon for company. Deeply fascinated by the Earth, she asks what sights she might see if she floated downward to get a closer look at the planet’s surface. Miss Sun’s reply, however, only serves to whet her appetite. Finally, the Cloud Princess succumbs to her curiosity and drifts down for a quick peek. All too soon, she begins to condense and release her inner mass as drops of rain. To protect herself, she retreats to her celestial home, resolving only to visit Earth every once in a while. Le’s stylized images (featuring lenticular color art) enhance her lightly cosmic etiological explanation for sudden changes in the weather. #cloud #princess #sky #sun #moon #earth #weather #book #books #childrensbooks #beautifulbooks #picturebook #picturebooks #picturebookillustration #picturebookillustrations #picturebookart #childrensbookillustration #childrensliterature #illustration #kidlit #kidsbooks #bookworm #booklover #booklovers #bibliophile #bookstagram #bookstagrammer #bookstagrammers #instabook #instabooks
